I feel that humor is essential and it’s what most of my work is based on. i’m a bit cynical at times, in a good way, or at least i think so. who’s to say where the odd brain comes from, but i feel lucky to have it.

kelli snively is native to harbor springs, michigan, born in 1958. she lived in kalamazoo from 1977-84 and then new york city until 1990. there she worked as an artist, artist assistant, and did gallery work. kelli purchased property in northern michigan, complete with a studio from the 1880’s. she spent seven winters in the caribbean and one year traveling in europe. currently she is happy at home, painting and working with bottle caps and other metals.
